Course includes 4 modules complete with lectures, notes, and course quizzes and a Final Exam. This course is a suggested prerequisite to other courses, if necessary.

Module 1 – Spelling: Saying it correctly. There are many words we may recognize and understand the meanings of but are unable to spell them correctly. This makes it difficult or impossible to find them in a dictionary. Very often we repeat what we have heard over the years and all too often, the words lack proper pronunciation. It is certain that it if the word is pronounced correctly, it is much easier to spell. This module will focus on the correct pronunciation of common words, identification of words that are spelled differently than they are pronounced and how to use phonics to improve our overall spelling of common and more challenging words.

Module 2 – Suffixes – The suffix or the ending sound of a word will change the meaning of the word. Improper use of suffixes is a blatant indication of challenges in English Language Arts, but the good news is, it’s an easy fix! This module will help you to understand the power of suffixes and eliminate the challenges you may be facing in that area.

Module 3 – Word Use – Using the right words to express your thoughts eliminates the frustration that comes with organizing and outlining your full written or spoken project. This module will revisit and re-introduce you to common words and more challenging words and their meanings, making it easier for you to choose the most effective words for expressing your thoughts clearly.

Module 4 – Sentence Structure – Sentences are made up of words that express thoughts. While words are understood within a sentence, the meaning or true intent of thought may become very challenged. This module will address this very challenging problem, gently and effectively so that your thoughts will run smoothly, and you will be prepared to read what you have written with ease.
